Many moments from the ceremony sparked outrage among viewers. Equestrian Floriana Isser was mistaken for the rider of the apocalypse. For some reason, a decapitated Marie Antoinette was included in the performance by a rock band. However, the biggest failure of the show was a parody of “The Last Supper” \u2014 the final meal of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion. It is hard to say what the director and producers were thinking when they replaced the Son of God with a DJ and the apostles with transvestites. Now, everyone involved is apologizing, and for something like this, it may never be possible to recover. “We tried to celebrate the tolerance of society. We believe that the figures we presented prove that we succeeded. If there are people who are offended, we certainly apologize.” In the birthplace of the Olympics, Greece, the ceremony has been labeled a collapse of civilization, and some sponsoring companies have already pulled their advertisements. “We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
