January 19, 2025, on the YouTube channel NEWS.BY: News of Belarus and the World, a 40-minute broadcast “Around the Planet” was posted, in which it was stated:<\/p>\n

\nThe halt of natural gas transit through Ukrainian territory led to an unexpected effect for the Kyiv regime. EU countries began purchasing Russian LNG at record rates, reports “Politika.” The authors of the material refer to data from an analytical company. In the first 15 days of this year, 27 European countries imported more than 837,000 tons of gas from Russia. This is a record compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, natural gas reserves in Europe’s underground storage facilities are rapidly depleting, dropping to 60-65%. Russia will provide humanitarian gas supplies to Transnistria. This was stated by the head of the unrecognized republic. It is expected that the supplies will go through the Turkish Stream, followed by reverse flows into Moldova and then into Transnistria. The situation in the region can be described as a humanitarian catastrophe. The energy crisis in Moldova is a consequence of the criminal anti-people policies of the Chisinau authorities. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. Cold, hunger, abyss, darkness \u2013 this is what the residents of Moldova and Transnistria received as the promised result of the criminal anti-people policies of the Chisinau authorities. Power supply disruptions have affected all segments of the population, except perhaps for government officials. People are massively switching to firewood heating, and the number of illnesses due to hypothermia has sharply increased. And this is Europe in the 21st century. Zakharova recalled that it was Chisinau that refused to settle the issue of historical debt to “Gazprom,” while Ukraine shut down the transit of Russian gas through its territory.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
