By the end of summer 2025, we decided to analyze the comments left by TikTok users under videos posted on Belarusian pro-government accounts. The following were used to collect the data:Exolyt – TikTok Social Intelligence Platform
The analysis carried out included:
- Network analysis is available, GPU acceleration was used to speed it up
- LLM analysis was used to analyze the commentators.
- Hashtags analysis conducted
- GPU acceleration using PyTorch was also used to analyze popular comments.
- OpenAI API has been connected for in-depth analysis
- The system was initialized with 10 modules available.
For analysis, 5 accounts were taken:

When analyzing 1,856 videos, 62,588 comments and a total of 123+ million views, the “discussion layer” under the content turns out to be heterogeneous. In three channels that purposefully promote the image of the leader of the Belarusian regime (and are not TV showcases like ONT LIFE and CTVBY), the comments look like they were formed “turnkey”: short enthusiastic formulas with the same emoji, slogans repeated many times, the same constructions under different videos and an almost complete absence of detailed responses-dialogues.
Based on the sample of the most liked comments, this is visible to the naked eye: at the top are the same type of laudatory messages with minimal variations in text and emoji, and such comments are found in batches under different videos in narrow time windows. It is this “added” mass of uniform responses that creates a sense of consensus and increased loyalty, but does not lead to a meaningful discussion; rather, it masks the absence of a real conversation with the audience.
Against the background of this “automated choir,” television showcases look different: due to soft, everyday and “explanatory” content, they collect most of the coverage and a more diverse, but still superficial reaction – likes, short approvals, neutral remarks. Where the focus is shifted to a personalistic agenda, there is a synthetic build-up of approval; where everyday stories prevail, the comments, although not deep, are less like replicated slogans.
In a practical sense, this means a simple thing: the total engagement figures without adjusting for “bot-like” patterns overestimate the degree of support and underestimate the share of criticism or doubts. To correctly interpret the metrics of publications about such channels, it is necessary to directly record the presence of types of repeated messages, low “thread depth” and simultaneous bursts of identical phrases.
